The attention and care of public spaces are an important signal of the human, economic and cultural dimension of a city, an added value that affects the vocation of a city and the conditions to communicate and compete with different urban contexts.
Decorus in Latin means “beautiful, elegant” and has two meanings: the dignity of appearance and by extension, the civil dignity. In this double meaning, the urban decoration becomes a concept based on the substantial uniformity between the appearance (outside) of a city and the moral (inside) of the society. For the urban decoration, the walls of a city are the “mirror of its inhabitants’ consciousness”.
